Chelsea play at home and they don't have the extra pressure of other championships... Spurs have a Europa League game coming up against a serious opponent... Chelsea are more motivated to take three points and stay in the UCL zone... Spurs have no chance to get into the European zone this season... I think Chelsea will win today...
I don't trust Tottenham as much as I trust Chelsea when comparing both team's consistency this season. So in this encounter I see Chelsea winning this game on top of a home advantage they also have. Chelsea is fighting for a spot in the top four and that's enough motivation to give their all to make sure they win to get all 3 points to continue to stay above Manchester city. I think their distractions in their various European competitions wouldn't be an excuse in whatever results that happens to be tonight.
Spurs are currently 14th in the standings... I guess I can say that this EPL season is over for them and there is no reason to try to earn points against a strong opponent in an away game... For Spurs, as well as for Man U it is important to continue playing in the Europa League now to try to get a grip on the UCL next season... Chelsea are hugely motivated to win this game...
Anyway we will see the result soon...
Here's the scores for the match, Chelsea won the game. It was a defining moment for the blues as they dominated the midfield and attacking front under a tensed atmosphere at the bridge. Although the game would have produced total three goals but two goals were disallowed, one from Caicedo which was chalked off for an offside and the other goal from the Tottenham player Sarr which was ruled out for a foul after a VAR check. This result automatically takes Chelsea to the 4th place on the table again with one point above City.
Meanwhile Spurs continued in their 14th position in the standings despite the result of this game.
This game ended up with Chelsea winning out of luck and the reason I said that is because a goal from Tottenham was cancelled, the game was supposed to end a 1-1 draw but luckily for Chelsea they survived. Even if they won I wasn't really impressed with their performance, they struggled to score that single goal. I don't think Chelsea can play against Newcastle or Nottingham forest with such a poor performance and formation. I was expecting Tottenham to lose based on their position on the league table.
I really do think otherwise here, it's not about luck here, it's more of winning ugly, winning when you aren't in your very best, you are talking about Tottenham Hotspur disallowed goal, but you fail to also talk about Chelsea disallowed goal which was even more classic than the one Tottenham Hotspur scored, and by the tune of your words, it sounds sentimental, these Newcastle united and Nottingham forest that you made mentioned that Chelsea cannot play, when they came up against Chelsea how do they fair?
Did Newcastle united or Nottingham Forest run over Chelsea easily? No.
So in as much as Chelsea is not in their best form now, they are equally not a push over or as bad as you make it looks like, because this Tottenham Hotspur team that aren't doing well can still defeat any team in the English premier league when they decide to turn up.
