The possibility of Chelsea being in the champions League next season depends on their performance in the remaining 8 matches left to play in the league, their win against Tottenham yesterday put them ahead of Manchester City with 1 point, I think they need to be consistent in the remaining games if they want to be in the champions League because Manchester City is one team that doesn't give up untill the end of the season so I think the right for who will be in the 4th play and the team to qualify for the champions League next season will be on till the last game in the league. Liverpool and Forest has already booked their tickets to the champions League competition next season I think Arsenal needs to be careful to avoid Forest finishing ahead of them because 4 points gap is not enough.
Chelsea must not only be wary of Manchester City because Newcastle is also in the same position, Newcastle could potentially overtake Chelsea from 4th place if they win their 30th match now we just have to wait and see who is the most consistent among these 3 teams to get the remaining ticket to the Champions League. Honestly, I'd rather see Chelsea take their place there especially they have been absent in this competition since the last few years and we know Chelsea have a good history here, I'm not talking about their potential as winners but as a more deserving team.
You actually said it all regarding what Chelsea does in the Champions League, honestly their present also makes it interesting but in this situation now Chelsea are my second option because clearly, Newcastle United have that opportunity at hand to win the slot and I'm so confident that they will try their best to make it happen. Manchester City are not in their best performance which is why many fans don't talk about them when it comes to finishing in fourth place.
Gradually the season is coming to an end and with the way the table is I think they already have the top three because apart from them I don't think anyone behind them can interrupt it again. After all, it requires strength and stability to stop their move. Liverpool, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest have confidently closed the top three slot.
