It's a wise decision I think.
Because if you reveal all of your incomes to your wife, if she know you bought something expensive for your hobby or entertainment, she will get mad. While there's nothing wrong for the men to enjoy a part of their incomes, they even give money for their wife for their own needs, not for house and kids, but the wife keep demand more and more.
I know, although I am not married but still I know because I have seen many real-life events where wives and GFs are after the money of their men therefore they should not show off until they can manage to lose it all or half. The best practice is to stay on the safer side and the only way is to not share your overall assets to anyone but you know in modern cultures wives also earn money and if they are not sharing what they have then you should not.
It is very sensitive matter though, and many men will say sharing is good, but IMO it is not, and there is not point in getting the information out from your partner that what he own, as if that's was not the main reason you chose them.
