I come from a country where the government are corrupt, nepotism etc anything bad you can name it and I still live here.

I'm sure I won't joy to paying my tax regardless the government are corrupt or not, corrupt countries usually have lower tax, while non corrupt countries will change higher tax. I never feel joy if I need t spend my money for government, it's better for me to spend it to my friends/colleagues/boss in order to make a relationship and increase my opportunity to work in better position/better company.

If the government can ensure the welfare of its people by providing adequate health care, education, social security...or the government can ensure that taxes are used for building and developing the country. I am all for paying taxes and am willing to accept high taxes.
But with a corrupt government, I also don't feel happy and want to pay taxes when they use that money for themselves, their family, not for my relatives, for the country...
Paying taxes is an obligation, a responsibility and a way to contribute to the development of the country, but there is no reason we should pay taxes to a government that is corrupt, selfish, and does not care about us.
