We all know that as we earn income, we're required to pay taxes. Generally, the more you earn, the higher your taxes. But what about countries with weaker economies that don't strictly enforce tax laws? Would you prefer to live in such a place?
Let’s break this down: What do taxes actually do, and what are the pros and cons of living in a country where tax enforcement is weak? Overall, does this benefit the people, or does it ultimately make life harder for them?
At the start it seems to be very pleasing for some people not to pay tax. But the people who are aware of the importance of taxes will never want to live in a country where taxes are not strictly imposed. Because taxes play an important role in maintaining public infrastructure, supporting social programs, healthcare, education and the security of citizens. Taxes are the main pillar of any government because governments manage taxes to give subsidies to their public. If we do not pay taxes, these services will be unavailable because they will be underfunded or non-existent leading to social inequalities. The government will be unable to balance the budget, which will lead to either debt or support from foreign countries. In such conditions elite class will be free from any tax system which will make it difficult for the poor people to live. So, personally I will never prefer my personal benefits over needy people's needs. I will not accept living in a country where taxes are not imposed.
