Just in time as I finished polishing all the details of the software for attacking 140.
Why rent GPUs when service provider can eat straight from the pot
Because:
1. service providers can't MITM a TLS connection that does client certificate verification, so the pot is for my eyes only.
2. service providers don't have a 25+ years experience in writing software from scratch.
3. assuming 1 and 2 don't hold, and the computation results get intercepted by some miracle, they'd need to cooperate, since the solution requires data obtained from multiple instances.
4. it's the only way to do it, until someone comes out with a few dozens of ASICs

5. I don't ever plan on buying thousands of top-end GPU only to have them obsoleted in 2 years.
