Any body wey just come to you on their own to offer you help or any form of assistance we supposed de suspect their moves because na how scammers de do be that so anything wey we de do we just have to be careful to not give out sensitive information.
The problem is not those that are are aware of all this but those that are not aware, those that are ignorant how can they safeguard themselves and what can be done to help them.
Who even comes to offer assistance unsolicited in this country that almost everybody needs assistance, that is the first question you should ask yourself and before you accept any form of assistance from anybody, be sure to verify the identity of the person from relevant parastatals or entities of claim and seek redress from them before agreeing to engage in any dealings with the person.
I was almost scammed last year with promise of a package being sent to me from the UK, but I just copied the package number and went straight to the cargo airline official website and searched for the package and it was non-existent, went back and told them the airline company does not know about the package and they blocked me till this day.
