I don't fully get your point but you also need to understand that Satoshi 's plan for bitcoin wasn't for it to be a replacement to the fiat system, rather it was an alternative fix to the corrupt fiat system and it's still optional. The whole fiat system got messed up pretty bad the moment the banks were so greedy that they gradually slipped from gold and silver as money to notes.

The biggest problem of paper money was over circulation and infact notes were born initially from coupons because of over circulation that's why satoshi used a supply Cap for bitcoin as a balance mechanism for demand while still influencing appreciation.
