So...
Both Tuesday and today Wednesday, I've completed three sets of Twenty pushups per day. (120)

Push on!Are you feeling good about your progress? It seems that in the very beginning, you were challenged in some of your own thinking about whether you could even do pushups on a regular basis.. .. and so little by little you have been including this in your daily activities. Are you feeling more powerful (physically and perhaps psychologically about this new activity)?
I continue to feel it is a challenge to do pushup sets and to carve out time to do my pushup sets, and frequently I like to do pushups prior to eating anything, even though I can do them at other times, I just tend to feel better to exert myself on an empty stomach. So sometimes if I have some social activities that involve eating in the morning, then that morning eating might screw up my routine and my ambitions to do pushups.
There have been some other activities that I have been doing a lot recently too (which is kind of physical), but tends to make me not want to do pushups... so sometimes there can be subtle things that we might not even realize to be happening that interfere with our physical and/or psychological desires to do pushups.
I do also have a kind of a goal-oriented way of going about things, so that if I say to myself.. this is going to be a pushup day (set of days), then I may well structure my day (set of days) around pushups and then really be able to do a lot of pushups on that particular day (or set of days).
The split sets can also help me to make sure that I get quantity of pushups in short periods of time.
So these days maybe if i am used to doing around 35 to 50 pushups per set, then if I spread the pushups through the whole day then maybe I will get 5 sets of 40.. 200 pushups.. .. but then maybe if I have a bunch of things going on and either I might try to do all my pushups eary in the day.. or maybe I try to make up for my not having had done pushups all day.. then maybe I will do three split sets that might involve right around 35 pushups per split and 70 per split-set.. so then my three split sets of 35 each may well end up in 210 pushup for those 3 split sets.. (35 x 2 for each split set perhaps separate each split set by 1 or 2 hours depending on how rushed I might be and/or how sore I might feel).
In the beginning of my doing pushups I could not do a bunch of pushup sets in a short period of time without getting overly sore or feeling that I might injure myself, but these days I can do decently large quantities of pushups in a relatively short period of time or even build myself up to being able to do more if I were to focus for several days in a row of focusing on pushups, even if it still may well hurt quite a bit while I am in the middle of each set, but I suppose there is a kind of sense that the recovery times are better because those particular pushup muscles and pushup joints have been conditioned for me in the last 14 months (429 days).
