Before we confuse serendipity with luck, please note that it is not just random luck but it is luck with a meaning. It is luck that happens at the right time that when you look back on it, you see that it was meaningful and leading to somewhere, in my estimation, somewhere always better than where you have been, either physically, financially, emotionally and otherwise.

Nice touch with this post, it made a whole lot of sense and it made me realize that I have only had such a moment once when I made a new friend that showed me his strategy and instead of using a reasonable amount to bet, I wanted to test if he was right, then I used a minimum amount to stake of which resulted in a lucky break/win, with bonus added but the reward amount I won was not substantial enough.
Besides this, I doubt I have come any closer to such instances of serendipity in my gambling travails. For me it's just luck and a wee bit of strategy to boost my chances at a meaningful amount.
I know happy gamblers win more, even sad ones do too. What matters is if the emotional state one is in while trying to gamble is rightly channeled with focus and clear thoughts.
