By the way, it would be great if you're willing to share screenshot of their email to convince more people.

Are they asking for a full kyc and sending of ID documents?

They give me a link to Ondato, a verification service, and they want me to take a live photo of my ID, and my face.

They (Coingate support, not Ondato) also want to see proof of my residential address (despite it being obvious I'm not from a "sanctioned" country), and because there are no street names or house numbers where I live, it is impossible to even provide them a document containing an address. Of course, I am able to provide other stuff that proves I live in a particular country, but they don't have addresses on them.

I think that their zeal will kill them and that customers will simply walk away from them, opting for sensible services where the company is on the side of the customer, does not squeeze the customer, does not demand too much and applies the most minimal requirements.

My seedbox provider does not do this whole AML/KYC thing so they are now looking into the mater and seeing what they can do in terms of alternative payment processors.
