Bitcoin was created as a decentralized digital cash, that hasn't changed, you can spend it anywhere it is accepted, holding it as an investment is a plus. What we need is more adoption and if all the buzz about it becoming reserve asset for different governments is achieved it can drive it's acceptance as a digital cash. For now it is more profitable to hold as a valuable asset that gives returns on the long term. Bitcoin can be a digital money revolution but it wasn't created to knock off fiat currencies, so don't get bored, if you don't spend it yet it will remain your asset.
