Which when the person suffering from it can no longer handle it, it can really lead to unexpected death if they neglect it. So having an addiction is truly a choice, it is not just a coincidence that comes into the life of a gambler. I hope we never hear of anything like this again because of gambling addiction. Condolences to the family of the one left behind. 
I like your opinion that addiction is a choice because we voluntarily seek gambling for fun but we choose to become addicted due to our greediness. There’s a lot of gambler that is not addicted and can play normally without experiencing depression despite having loss.
Addiction is brutal if the person experiencing it hides to his family or he is living alone without someone to share.
Most of the story related to death due to addiction are those people that discreet with their life.
