The causes which take someone to suicide are always complex and can't be oversimplified by considering it's all gambling's fault. Gambling may have played a big role in this case, but it's not everything. When you feel sad due to something, you still have many other possibilities in life which could compensate that sadness you are feeling for something specific.
When those possibilities just vanish or look inexistent, it means there is something else going on with the individual. Why isn't he able to find alternatives for his life? Why does everything summarizes to gambling for him?
Those are questions you have to consider. It looks obvious that if I can't make money through gambling, I have to find something else to work with. The point is, why wasn't that obvious for this subject?
Because its always difficult for someone whose head is already not thinking straight. Most of the suicidal people thinks they have had enough already and the easy way out is ending it.
Not the kind of thing that a gambler person would do I think unless he isn't really a gambler but was just lured into it for a day and had spent all his life savings which he has to do a lot of explaining like the college kid who just jump out the window.
