Manchester United did the right thing allowing David De Gea leave but did wrong signing a goalkeeper like Andrea Onana. I get it though, this was a signature wanted by Erik ten Hag during his second season with the club so as to execute and project his tactics and style of play. Disregard speculations of David returning to Manchester United,  he has been offered contract extension already by Fiorentina  ( 1 Yr extension ).

I'm glad the Gea didn't listen to the sweet talk if his darling former club that wants him back now he's rekindling the success of his career at Fiorentina. Playing for the red devils would have daunted the light that's about to shine in his what was a glooming career. One year out of season no team or club Man U never taught about him, and now he's made a new signing and they want him back, that's a no, and for people who wished for that to happen, sorry for the disappoint.

If we’re talking about De Gea’s performance, it wasn’t that bad. What I can say is that he really had terrible defense during his later years at Manchester. The defense Onana has right now is more solid than what De Gea had. However, bringing him back to Manchester is outrightly the wrong move. His reflexes, which used to be his advantage, are no longer as sharp as they used to be. So, really, what’s the point?
Manchester United should definitely find other alternatives instead of De Gea. It is very strange to think that the Spanish goalkeeper will come to United again. Of course, he will not be able to reach the performance of Cristiano Ronaldo when he returned, but goalkeeper reflexes may decrease over time. Therefore, they can transfer a young and better goalkeeper instead of the Spanish goalkeeper. Onana is now damaging to Manchester United.
