Nottingham should be able to maintain their position in the standings if they can play better for the remaining games. There are still teams like Tottenham and Chelsea that they will face. However, if their performance drops, the situation on the field could be different. Man City has started to chase points, as well as Aston Villa and Chelsea who will also compete. The fight for the available Champions League tickets may be even tighter towards the end of the season.
Nottingham Forest is now under pressure because they are been surrounded by big teams with huge experience in the Premier League, they can’t afford to keep dropping points anymore if not they might drop to seventh position because Manchester City, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United all can overtake them if they perform bad in their next coming games. However, it will not be that easy for all these teams either because they are all not in good form and Nottingham Forest players well more than them this season, just that they have little setbacks which is why the from some points few weeks back, but I am hoping they return stronger since most of these teams behind them are getting closer.
Chelsea on the other hand needs to win this match if they want to keep their position because if they lose this match, they will remain in the sixth postseason. From Maresca’s line up, I can see how serious he is, he really needs the three points for the team so that they can keep pushing for the champions league spot.
