Some offices give employees time off during holidays, but others don't. Some even make employees come to work on Christmas Day or during other festive seasons.

For me, I don't think it's fair to make an employee work during holidays. I think it should be voluntary - if you want to come to work, you can, but if you don't, you can stay home and celebrate with your family and friends.
We can't fight the company's system because it is stated in the contract how an employee must comply with all policies and if we don't like the system then we shouldn't work in a place like this. This is not about fairness or not because the company must ensure that there are workers who remain on standby in the office during holidays because some things require them to stay with certain considerations. Employees can also use their leave during holidays so that the company can assign these tasks to other workers and this is a little fairer in my opinion.

We work with the company's system and we should follow it, not about whether we like it or not because there are still many people out there who are waiting to be able to work to earn money, even though they have to work during any festive holiday. Maybe by enjoying it we can be more accepting of the system even though we lose time with our families during the holidays.
