gambling is often seen as a harmful habit. my question to you is, in a completely free society, should someone be prevented from providing gambling services for the good of society?
The question of gambling ethics is a rhetorical question. The only thing that can be said for sure is that it is legal (not in all countries). Personally, I think that if RTP were fairer, gambling would be more ethical, but less profitable for the owners.
For the benefit of society, in some countries, gambling is simply prohibited. For all citizens. Their experience in this matter should be studied, whether the prohibition of gambling in their country made society better.
from an individual point of view, it is everyone's choice to gamble or not to gamble. the management of your money is entirely up to you in a physical sense. but that doesn't change the fact that some people are going to go bankrupt, their lives are going to be very difficult with the existence of gambling. if it was up to you to allow gambling, knowing that it is inevitable when enough people are involved in gambling, would you consider it ethical?
What about freedom of choice? Freedom to manage your finances. Wouldn't a ban be unethical?
do you think that things that can harm a person through their choices should be prevented, or is everyone responsible for their own decisions as long as they are not forced to make them?
Everyone should be the master of their
own wallet. Interfering with this is tantamount to encroaching on the right to freedom.
A weak person who is unable to manage their finances will suffer one way or another from their wrong actions. Be it gambling or investing or trading. By prohibiting one, such a person will lose money in another way.
