It's not too bad and I think Ancelotti is just trying to keep his main players from wasting too much energy ahead of the UCL game. Just imagine if Vinicius and Bellingham had played from the first half. I'm sure there would have been no problem in scoring more.
Maybe you are right. But let's not forget that the team is Real Madrid. And against a team like Alaves, Madrid should have won easily even with their second-string squad. Ancelotti rested Vini and Bellingham. If Madrid's players had played well, Ancelotti might not have used these two players in the second half.
