gambling is often seen as a harmful habit. my question to you is, in a completely free society, should someone be prevented from providing gambling services for the good of society?
In a "completely free society" nobody would be prevented from gambling or providing gambling services but ours isn't a completely free society. Man is inhibited by laws and there's also the religious angle. All that are constraint to man.

I guess why society, especially the non-gambling ones, frowns at gambling is because of the addiction and loss that come with its perpetual involvement. Show me any gambler whose winning rate is overwhelming and you will see how they're liked and envied by those who condemn others for gambling.

do you think that things that can harm a person through their choices should be prevented, or is everyone responsible for their own decisions as long as they are not forced to make them?
I believe that man is a free moral agent and as such man is entitled to make choices and live with them. If those choices turn out good, man rejoices. If they turn out bad, man deals with the outcome.
