Self-sufficiency should be the goal. If we can produce for our own needs, if producers prefer the domestic market rather than the export market, perhaps a nation can sufficiently stand on its own feet. Maybe we can be the least affected of all these trade wars.

I wonder if it’s only US that produces more of the things we consume in this world that the tariff hike is really having effect in many countries, especially top countries like China. The moral of the story should indeed be self sufficiency and no country depending on another for their daily consumption needs or means of survival on domestic products. The tariff hike wouldn’t have gone this bad if almost all nations produces what they consume. He now owns the dictatorship on this because they’ve exclusively make themselves been dependable on by most nations.
