It's still quite unpredictable to forecast exact timelines for this.
IMO, becoming a global household name could happen more quickly as more people begin to hear about and use it daily, especially with its increasing integration into everyday financial services.
However, keep in mind that Bitcoin serves only as an alternative to fiat or central banks. Thus, even as it gains mainstream acceptance, its core principles continue to set it apart from centralized alternatives.
When it goes mainstream, there are still people who use it and others who don't use it, same with companies as in a normal world with freedom, people and companies are free to choose what they want to use among many abundant options.
Bitcoin goes mainstream is quite optimistic future that I believe it will come with us. I only think of it that it won't mean 100% people globally including entrepreneurs and business companies will use Bitcoin. With freedom, there are always people who make their choice oppositely and against Bitcoin, but it's just fine. Bitcoin, altcoins, fiat currency, central bank system are all here for use to make our choices. They serve us one way or another and if we see one is best or good enough for our demand, we can pick it for use.
