I never saw this coming, Chelsea been placed under probability of making it to the champions league even after a very good start to the season for them. Even when they fumbled at some point, I was still optimistic and having big hopes on them to bounce back and retain the top four positions. Chelsea should be a rather disgrace if they don’t make it to the champions league. With the teams occupying the first five positions on the league table, it is almost not certain Chelsea can do anything again unless a miracle happens for them. Those teams are consistent and I feel it’ll not be easy for Chelsea to replace any of them on the table standings as it is now.
It seems like you don't need to worry too much and look now Chelsea still has a chance to be in the top 5. Look at Nottingham who is currently experiencing a decline in performance even though Man United is improving slowly but Chelsea can still catch up on the points difference.
There are still 6 matches left and if Chelsea wants to get the top 5 position, at least they have to try their best not to lose points in the remaining matches this season.
Nothing has been confirmed yet at all. Those teams are all so close and while form could come into play now and is not the best for Nottingham at the moment, I think everyone of those teams will get the right instructions and optimal motivation to go for those last games. There is a ton on the line for all those teams. Manchester City has a lot to lose, Nottingham has a lot to win, and Chelsea and Aston Villa could finish the season with a decent position in the table. One of the key games in my opinion is Aston Villa against Newcastle. If Newcastle doesn't lose it, I think they won't be stopped from qualifying for the Champions League anymore.
