The owners of Chelsea would be raving mad if they fail to qualify for the Champions league competition at the end of this season. The league is gradually coming to an end and clubs like Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City and Aston Villa are all pushing limits. Enzo Maresca and his boys should better buckle up.
They definitely need to feel bad if the team doesn't qualify for the champions league because they started the season well and everyone even thought they were title contenders at some point but everything shattered and they started struggling since December and they don't seem to have gotten over it because since that time they have been inconsistent and no one knows what really happened. I also doubt that they can make top 4 and qualify for the champions league next season but since the chances of qualifying are slim they can focus all their energy in the Conference league and try to win the trophy at least to compensate them and the owners for the sloppiness in the Premier League. That doesn't mean they shouldn't try their best to challenge for the top 4.
I never saw this coming, Chelsea been placed under probability of making it to the champions league even after a very good start to the season for them. Even when they fumbled at some point, I was still optimistic and having big hopes on them to bounce back and retain the top four positions. Chelsea should be a rather disgrace if they don’t make it to the champions league. With the teams occupying the first five positions on the league table, it is almost not certain Chelsea can do anything again unless a miracle happens for them. Those teams are consistent and I feel it’ll not be easy for Chelsea to replace any of them on the table standings as it is now.
They really need a miracle now. It would have been fair if Chelsea didn't draw against Ipswich Town, the points gap is not much so all they need is to step up their performance and there might be hope of making it but the deed is done already now they have to work harder if they want to make it. I am really disappointed in Chelsea the way they dropped in performance.
