At the time I mentioned there was John McAfee predicting that bitcoin would reach $1 million by 2020 and if not, he said he was going to eat his dick on national TV, which didn't happen in the end. And although the guy was a bit peculiar, the idea that bitcoin could reach a million someday was getting into everyone's heads, as the first value when it started trading was less than a penny on the dollar. The question is when it will reach that figure.

They didn't imagine that flip Bitcoin price hits $1M within 90 days, the world would be in an apocalypse or similar severe future when many traditional things destroyed like nuclear war, super hyper inflation globally and $1M will not have big value because of $ plummet of purchasing power.
McAfee and other people can make arbitrary and funny predictions that can harm your portfolio if they can not control their emotion and action.
