In this type of situation we just have to trust their words and believe that they actually deleted it from their server completely.
This is what we do with every platform or services we used and maybe request for deletion of account/data. We just have to believe or hope they actually deleted those data as ironic as it seems.  Although this is more scary/unfortunate since it's already known what the wants to do with these data's.

The company, which has over 15 million customers worldwide, said it voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to “facilitate a sale process to maximize the value of its business.” 23andMe received permission from a judge to try to sell its most valuable asset — customers’ DNA data, Bloomberg reported.
The judge who made that permission of selling dangerous customer data like this, is insane, and should be fired. I am no longer suprrised with company data breaches intentionally (like selling it on dark market by internal staffs) or unintentionally (like by hacks, data breaches) but this case is a first time I've ever known. A company is allowed legally by judge, to sell their customer data. Yes, they are allowed doing this legally.

It's joke!

Like man this is actually shocking, I'm still trying to process everything about the case.
Like hey judge you see my company is losing money and currently in the state of bankruptcy, no body wants to use our service after our data breach, since our reputation plummeted and the only way to raise funds is by selling customers data's

Joke aside I think all these might be accepted based on what they are gaining and health insurance company's would love this based on the analysis someone gave on the case, whereby they can choose not support individuals who might have had relatives suffering from similar health crisis. They are ignoring the demerits of all these and also from the fact that criminals might be able to used these data's against these customers which I can say is inevitable with time. Anyway, I hope when it happens it can be trace back to them on how the criminals got tge victims data.
