Is it even necessary for Amorim to rest players, the match against Athletic Bilbao is still next week so what is the need of resting players. They have another Premier League game against Bournemouth next Sunday so why rest players this week instead of resting when they meet with Bournemouth. All i just saw was that the players where literally exhausted from their Europa league match against Lyon because they used a lot of energy before the defeated Lyon so i don't see their lose against Wolves today as a big deal.
They've nothing to play for in the premier league. Whether they win against wolves or not, it would have taken them nowhere. They would still be in 14th position. So it was necessary to rest some players after a busy couple of weeks. Although, I don't know if it would have changed the outcome of the match against wolves but it will give the players time to recharge their batteries and be in good shape for the match against Athletic Bilbao.
Before the match started, it was predictable that Man United would draw or lose and in this match they lost. Because it was clear before the match started Amorim also said that in this match there would be player rotation, so it can be said that for Amorim the EPL has been released or is no longer a priority. Because he already knows that Man United will not be relegated, in the remaining 5 matches of course Ipswich can no longer catch up with the 17-point difference from Man United. So this is what makes Man United not bother in the remaining EPL matches, Amorim is more focused on the European league.
