Reacting to a near miss by quickly wanting to gamble shows a lack of self control and an individual still susceptible to making decisions due to emotions will make a lot of errors.

Well, depends - if I arrange a nice parlay for the weekend and I got the "near miss" experience on the first even on the ticket, I'm rebetting the ticket. Lol

It has nothing to do with self control, it about you having faith in the other remaining games on your ticket. Most times the first event on our tickets are usually the bad game..
Yeah, that's your thing and it works sometimes. Other times without self control, you'll keep rebetting until you've lost good funds in the process. Myself don't check my games until they're done playing out, I kind of feel more relaxed when I can take my mind off it until the end of the day at least. If at all I'll rebet, it's not same day I staked it.
