How do you know that Satoshi Nakamoto was not rewarded for creating Bitcoin? He could easily have hundreds or thousands of addresses that to this day remain unconnected to his identity. I think if he is alive, he will obviously not use Bitcoin from publicly known addresses, as this could cause a negative reaction in the cryptocurrency community. But from time to time anonymous addresses from that time wake up and use Bitcoin. It is quite possible to assume that these addresses are Satoshi's. At least that's likely. To be a genius and not make money for a secure old age seems too stupid to me.
We won't know the details about it anyways, and we shouldn't, imo.
BTC should remain the ideal coin for the space, incorruptable, so to speak.
