Some type of this flawed thinking is borrowing money from loan apps to gamble thinking that when they win they will pay back the loan and its interest and keep the rest for themselves. They call this gambling, with other people's money.
I would call it gambling with other people's money if you get the money by steal it or found it somewhere.
If you borrowing someone's money, that money is yours, so you're gamble with your own money because you have to pay it.
I would not waste my time trying to convince someone unless they asked for advice. And giving unsolicited advice is an extremely thankless task. You know that delusions are a temporary part of the human worldview, and if you try to convince a person, they simply may not believe your words. A person must see for themselves that they are wrong in practice. I always say that practice has the highest degree of reliability. Besides, why waste time trying to convince someone? As one psychologist said, criticize for money, and only praise for free.
It also raise suspicion or less trustworthy, because when someone trying to offer something without being asked, people might see them as a scammer. Let's say you work as an insurance agent, if you meet with your friends and you trying to sell insurance plan, it's high likely they will avoid to met you in the future.
What you need is act like a friends, no need to hard selling, wait until they interested or they reach you about insurance.
