In that case, Bitcoin will be devastatingly affected.
But you are getting the whole thing wrong, it's not about banning or not, it's about the survival and adoption of Bitcoin, and the appreciation of the price of the coin (all conditions being equal, like other assets). My point is that Bitcoin does not need a certain person to survive, it has always been like that. It rather needs its COMMUNITY, and it's this community that has helped it till now, and not a certain individual.
Even with their good or bad policies, Bitcoin will survive. Why? Because it has a huge and diehard COMMUNITY.
Exactly, Bitcoin is a believe system that works, Therefore when a community of people believe in something and they've seen transparency ,truth and trust, it will be very difficult for a single person or few person to hijack the system and that’s exactly what Bitcoin is all about, anyone seen trying to alter a good system in place you will see the community fighting back hard or segregate this set of people, and this why the Government cannot do anything about stopping Bitcoin, because it's beyond control. They can only put system in place to try to disrupt it but the community will always brainstorm a way out.
