There’s this “always think positive” mindset when I’m gambling... but honestly, the results aren’t always positive.
Sometimes, because of that positive thinking, I get overconfident.
Even when I’m supposed to stop, like I already hit my limit, stil I keep pushing, thinking, "It’s okay, its just a rough start, I can still end up winning."
But instead, I just end up losing more.
Have you ever been in that situation too?
Oh definitely! I have experienced what you also experienced, OP.
Sometimes, we stay positive in order to justify our gambling spree. We try to stay positive in order to at least overwhelm the feeling of negativity especially in a losing-streak or when you just lost tons amount of money in the process. By staying positive, you at least have that hope to cling on in the event that you want to proceed further.
Be reminded, however, that staying positive is NOT always the recommended way when facing a gambling problem. Sometimes, it is also recommended to accept the lost and feel the negativity in order to compel ourselves to stop. The more we try to justify our actions despite knowing that we have already lost tons amount of money, the more difficult would it be for us to stop.
