Most people, even if they start now, will likely take many years, perhaps a cycle or two to establish their bitcoin position. There are not a lot of people who can just buy with a lump sum and then just sit on their investment for 10 years or more... so it seems mostly investors would be actively buying for at least the first half of an investment timeline that might be 10 years or more.
They have not realized that Bitcoin has many advantages compared to other assets. Bitcoin is growing faster with technological advances, people who delay investing will not only feel regret but they are throwing away the opportunity they have seen that bitcoin is better to have since they knew it compared to delaying and not buying it.
Some of them will express their regret when they find out that their friends or relatives are investing in bitcoin while they do not have any btc in their portfolio. Early awareness to continue accumulating is a better way to face a brighter future by having bitcoin.
In developed countries, maybe the average person has chosen bitcoin over gold, because the investment shift from gold to bitcoin is a smarter choice when the world is developing with increasingly sophisticated technology.
Sometimes you also need to consider availability of information about bitcoin opportunities to people. Some would gladly invest if they have all it takes: knowledge and technical know how. In a world of evolving technology, anyone would love to follow the trend and not many would rightly reject bitcoin after all they have seen happen in January.
No matter how sophisticated any technology becomes, there would always be a basic knowledge which requires little or no mastery of technology before you can apply it.
