We cannot really know the exact adoption numbers, yet many individuals are going to end up getting fucked because they are too slow to get themselves into bitcoin.
At some point, i though this was due to fear , but later discover that some have high level of indecision and can procrastinate for years, which has affected them to the stage they were now, because someone found in this condition may not quickly move or progress as opportunities are flying up and down and time is going without them seizing any opportunity, bitcoin at this stage is not what anyone should doubt or delay to invest, except the have the condition to learn and know about how it works before investing properly.
I have some friends that laughed me to scorn when I started my journey in Bitcoin. To them I was wasting my time and money because they had the feeling that Bitcoin was a ponzi scheme. I tried several times to make them see reason why Bitcoin was not any of what they thought but they were practically not interested in what I was saying. Fast forward to last year when Bitcoin hit $100k, some of them saw it on social media and how people who held Bitcoin were celebrating and some people were buying due to the hype and they came back to me that they regretted not buying Bitcoin the time I told them about it.
Just like JJG said, there are people that will regret not buying Bitcoin when they should and I have already seen some and more will come. I have studied different investment options and Bitcoin stand out as one of the best because it does not really require much paper works, boring processes and too much logistics to start investing in Bitcoin. Besides, no one will even know that you are heavily invested in something very lucrative which means Bitcoin bring some form of security as there will be no attention on you unless you go about telling people. I'm glad I accepted Bitcoin when I learnt about it.
As long as life is concerned, there would always be people around who would discourage you because their eyes are only fixed on the negative side of things probably because of their previous experience, but it's left for you to decide if you'll be making your decision from other people's opinions or your own knowledge. I should have gotten into bitcoin earlier than I did but I had similar experience(listening to friends) not until I became fed up of not doing anything when my mind still sees potentials in bitcoin. Indeed I regretted ever adhering to their advice but truth be told from where I started from till now some profits have been added to my portfolio. However staying in a regretful position is not the right thing to do. Regret can never solve any problem, it only keep you in a state of indecision. Even if anyone gets into bitcoin today, there is still possibility that he'll make good profits from bitcoin. Irrespective of the amount of years bitcoin has existed it still poses as a potential project for future investment.
