This kind of events feels totally rigged to me, after the past fight from jake paul vs tyson i desidedto not Watch more fight from paul again, those events are like WWE to me, we can't consider those ones as real fights
I will wait until jake fights against canelo Álvarez, that would be the only fight that really woth it to Watch.
It's because it's not real boxing fights, this is still exhibition and although they try to hurt each other in the ring, but upon closer inspection they are not. Just like in the Mike Tyson fight, it seems that Tyson is not giving 100% on his power punches that's why people see this fight as being rigged.
However, if there are still fans willing to buy expensive tickets to watch this fight then Jake will continue to milk and scam them for choosing fighters that is old and that he can easily beat but he will hype it up as if the opponent will have a chance to beat him.
I don't think there was an agreement to not hurt each other in the Jake Paul fights, perhaps in the Mike Tyson fight they agreed to something because the guy is like 60, but we will never know. I think there was no fix, it was just that Jake Paul showed respect and did not punish him a lot more on the later rounds when age shows on these fights. On the other fights, I think they were real fights. There's no way Tommy Fury agreed to anything with Jake Paul.
We can't compare it to Tommy Fury fight though, I mean Fury has nothing to offer to Jake Paul that time, maybe the animosity is real between the two, but still the amount of money Paul make as compare to Tyson is different.
These guys don't get along and they put a lot on the line. You have a lot more to win by KO'ing the other guy, so I think they both accept the risk of getting KO'd in order to have a chance to hit the big win and produce a lot of social media traffic which translates in more money and better future fights. Perhaps Jake Paul has enough money to influence certain fights if he is buying some broke guy, but I doubt any of these would agree to take a dive. If you look at Jake Paul opponents, these guys have too much of an ego to agree to lose against the youtuber. These guys just try their best on the fights. Now when it comes to Floyd Mayweather exhibitions.. then I would see how he is just agreeing with their opponents and giving them a big payday to take an L, since you are taking an L against the best ever anyway, so you don't look bad. However, taking a an L against a youtuber, it doesn't look that great on your resume.
For the Tyson fight, yes we did see some respect for Mike Tyson in this fight. But still though, they are there in the ring to hurt each other, unless you really don't want to. Although Jake Paul already denied that it was a setup and rigged fight,
Claims that the recent record-breaking boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was rigged are “incorrect and baseless … illogical and inane,” the fight’s promoter said in a statement Monday.
Paul won the controversial bout, which was the most-streamed global sporting event in history, via unanimous decision after eight two-minute rounds, with judges scoring the fight 80-72, 79-73, 79-73.
Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), which was co-founded by Paul, defended the authenticity of the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s victory, writing that suggestions to the contrary were “fictitious.”
