The question here is how do you relieve your excitement? Do you continue to play or do you stop there? The particular habit I observe in gamblers, professional or amateur, is that they are concerned about winning but do not feel the need to relieve their excitement.
"Relieve their excitement"? What does that even mean? So many people gamble to relieve themselves of stress, the reality of life and pain. A lot more, but that's all we want for this discussion -- So why do they also need a relieve themselves of the excitement? Does it mean that gambling causes more harm/hurt than the problems they tend to run away from?

I see where the problem sets in. We all need to tell ourselves the truth -- nobody feels excited to lose money, no matter how rich they are. The feeling of disappointment is not a bad one; that's the only way to get discouraged from the game, then say "NO" when it's time to stop.
