Barcelona seriously needs Alvarez to come as a new striker. I believe he can suit Barcelona's gameplay well, but only wonder on how much he priced by Atletico. Logically, They have no good financial to buy him out from Atletico. However, they can do something to raise the fund like selling lots of their young lads.
It will be interesting to see Alvarez to play at Barcelona. He had been coached by Pep, which has also Barcelona DNA.

Some people may be getting upset about Barcelona's financial, but they still have so many players to sell. That's why i think the possibility is always there for them to sign Alvarez.
I hope him to join Catalan asap.
I don't really understand how they could afford Alvarez: Atletico paid a huge sum for him, he did pretty well so there is no reason to sell him at loss, especially to a competing club like Barcelona. And how could Barcelona pay for him? Who are these players they could sell? And shouldn't the money cover some of the debts instead of being used for new players? Are they going to be in debt forever without any consequence?
Is it possible for Barcelona to return to the option where payment is in installments? Haha
It is too big for Barcelona to take Alvarez because it is clear that the price will be high set by Atletico Madrid considering there are still many shortcomings in their club finances.
Maybe selling some players like Lewandoswki and others can cover it.
But will Atletico let him go?
Out of curiosity I just checked how much Atletico paid to Manchester City for Alvarez: it's 95 million euros. Would they ever sell him after only one year for less than that? I don't think so. Would they sell him for the same price? Why would they do that? So we're talking way more than 100 mln euros, an amount of money that Barcelona can't afford.

And Lewandowski is going to be 37 this year, he's still great but no one is going to give money to Barcelona for him, maybe just a few millions, that's it.
