Unfortunately, there has long been a tendency for marketers to try to convince the middle class that if they overpay a little for goods, they will be indistinguishable in the eyes of society from the rich class. We see this with purchases of iPhones and other equipment from Apple. We see this with purchases of brands like Nike or Zara. The middle class pays a lot for the mere feeling of its own greatness. But all that equipment and clothing is made in China. The payment is only for the labels or the icon that is associated with imaginary success.
