I’m just wondering if you guys feel the same way, or if it’s just me.
There’s this “always think positive” mindset when I’m gambling... but honestly, the results aren’t always positive.
Sometimes, because of that positive thinking, I get overconfident.
Even when I’m supposed to stop, like I already hit my limit, stil I keep pushing, thinking, "It’s okay, its just a rough start, I can still end up winning."
But instead, I just end up losing more.
Have you ever been in that situation too?
You are certainly not alone, many gamblers have been through this or something very similar and I can tell you that this "always think positive" mentality can be a double-edged sword, especially when it comes to sports betting...
On the one hand, maintaining a positive attitude helps you not give up easily and better deal with momentary losses, the problem is when it leads us to be overconfident or ignore clear signs that it is time to stop.
So... it is okay to think this way, but you need to find a balance between thinking positive and being realistic because having discipline is essential in games and this includes respecting your pre-defined limits, both for winnings and losses (mainly).
Another important point is to remember that, in betting and gambling, luck plays a huge role, and optimism will not always change that,,, so it is good to think positive to help keep calm, but it should not be used as an excuse to make impulsive decisions or neglect well-planned strategies.
