Don't you have the passphrase and PIN from the file? If you do, just import the backup into the bitcoin wallet app and it will ask you for the passphrase and PIN (if you have enabled them).

? If your text based file is human readable or doesnt contain weird character, it's probably in Base58 key format.

If the backup file is protected by a PIN code, you need bitcoinj to decrypt it.
