I can say that not upto 5% of those that tapped their phones to earn points, with the hope that it could be converted into money did it as fun. There is nothing fun in being glued to your phone every second and just be tapping on your phone. Those acts were actually manipulative and that was why I didn't participate. I do not like a situation where I will be conditioned to do something with an unreliable promise of good returns.
The participants took the tapping as a competition, some brag about how much rewards they've tapped out of their phone screen, which motivates others to push harder. It's indeed fun for people who don't participate, when the trend was much, a bus conductor was loading a vehicle and tapped his phone with one hand. At first it looks easy to tap the screen, but the stress doubles speedily, not getting paid afterwards could lead partakers to anxiety.
