It seems that Arteta's concern about protecting his main players to avoid injury also had an impact on Arsenal's weakening performance in this match. And as a result, Arsenal lost to Bournemouth in that match with a score of 1-2. I am disappointed with this result although I can probably understand it considering there will be a very important match for Arsenal after this. Namely the match against PSG in the second leg of the Champions League Semifinals. but it's still hard for me to accept the defeat. Fortunately, this defeat did not really affect Arsenal's position in the Premier League standings. But if Arsenal continues to lose in all the remaining matches this season, don't be surprised if Arsenal can also lose this position and even fail to get a UCL ticket. but I don't think that will happen. Because I am sure that Arsenal will win the remaining matches in the Premier League after this. But about Arsenal in the UCL I'm starting to doubt it. because the second leg of the UCL semi-final will be held at PSG headquarters.
This is never an excuse for their failure because all their key players were in the pitch yesterday. Saka, Declan Rice, Ben White, Martinelli and Partey were all in the pitch playing despite that he subbed off some of them. If truly he's concern about them being injured ahead of their clash with PSG in the champions league, he would have rested some of the key players from the beginning. Let be realistic, Arsenal played their full squad and lost the game against average Bournemouth.
Take a look at PSG yesterday. They made ten changes to their first eleven just to rest their players against Wednesday clash with Arsenal. Although, PSG lost their match yesterday just like Arsenal but it doesn't matter since they've won the league already. Arsenal on the other hand play full squad and still lost. In fact, as it stands now their second position is not guaranteed and they might as well lost that second place just the way they lost the league.
That's a flimsy excuse cause lots of Arsenal's key players were in that Match which is why they should've won it but then they didn't, I thought Arteta would protect them from injury by selecting younger players but he didn't and they still lost, their's no excuse for losing, maybe if he had benched them then that excuse would've been understandable, even PSG had for sacrifice the match against stratsbourg so their key players would be fit in the second leg of the Champions League fixture, I wonder why Arteta didn't do same.
If an Arsenal key player like Partey or Saka sustained injury from yesterday's match and they probably lose to PSG this week their fans would still come up with excuse that they lost cause of the injured player, forgetting that Arteta played a role to the injury, well I think your statement is kinda right cause if they lose to PSG it could affect them mentally and even cause them to lose the remaining Premier League points that would guarantee them as runners-up.
