Arsenal failed to take a more positive view of their Champions League qualification position next season after their defeat to Bournemouth. Despite sitting second in the table with 67 points, they could face a challenge to win the next match. Arsenal will face PSG in the second leg on Wednesday and they will have to win that match, although it will not be easy as they lost the first leg 1-0.

I was expecting and confident that Arsenal would win easily against Bournemouth, but the match was played in such a difficult equation that none of Arteta's tactics were of any use and the players were unable to break down the opposition defense. In the match between these two teams last October they also lost 2-0 and now Arsenal lost the chance to get important points with a defeat to Bournemouth.
Exactly, with just 3 points ahead of Manchester City and they also have two tough opponents to play against in the league after their Champions League game against PSG this midweek. They will still have to face Liverpool and Newcastle in the league phase. Just this weekend they will have to face Liverpool and it's a doubt that they will win that game. If they lose that game and Manchester City happens to win there's them they will be tied on points. From the look of things Arsenal might not even finish second on the table this season if eventually they lose against Liverpool.
After facing PSG in the second leg of the Champions League which will be played in a few days, Liverpool and Newcastle are very tough opponents for Arsenal and Southampton may be an easy opponent for Arsenal, but if you look at the results of the two teams' matches, Southampton still has several draws with Arsenal which could potentially make Arsenal unable to finish in second, third, or even fourth place. However, that is not necessarily the case because anything can still happen in a football match, because Chelsea was also able to beat Liverpool who already had the status of Premier League champions.
