In as much as Liverpool has already won the league I would have thought they should also try to play for respect and also to build a formidable legacy and history but that wasn't the case today as they lost 3:1 to Chelsea.
I did not watch the match so I was following the live score, on looking at the squad Liverpool used I even felt more embarrassed because many of their first team players started the match.
But on any thoughts Chelsea is fighting for a place in Europe so their hunger today just surpassed Liverpool's own who are already champions of the league
It is really embarrassing for Liverpool to be beaten by every team after they have won the league title. Such matches may not be too important for them towards any trophy but clubs uses those matches for their records. Apart from that, the fans also use those matches to cheer themselves up, get motivation to buy tickets and even bet among themselves. These are the things that makes the sports fun and bring out that pride of supporting a club. Liverpool should have a change of mindset for their remaining matches so they can bring some excitement to their supporters.
Liverpool did not need the match; it was Chelsea for whom the match was so important. They tried their best to win the match. In fact, even though Liverpool have not won the Premier League title, it is possible for Chelsea to beat Liverpool or for the match to end in a draw.Chelsea have not made it easy for Liverpool for a long time now, especially when the match is held at Chelsea's home ground. So, I was not that surprised when Chelsea defeated Liverpool.
Again, I do not see it as an embarrassment for Liverpool because even Liverpool know that Chelsea is a big team. However, Chelsea is just not in great form currently. Yet, whenever it comes to matches against Liverpool or other big teams, Chelsea always appear to be good and play their best.
For the remaining matches, I am not expecting great performances from Liverpool because they have already won the league. The remaining matches are not as important to them, so I don't think they will put much effort into those games.At this point, I would advise people to avoid betting on Liverpool to win matches against any team in their remaining games.
