Someone was reported to have made his fortune from cryptocurrencies. His father was kidnapped. The kidnappers demanded for ransom but not stated if the ransom was bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies. I tried to read other news but I did not get the details of the ransom asked for by the kidnappers.

Crypto owners that are known to the public are getting targeted in France. You can remember the co-founder of French crypto-wallet firm Ledger, David Balland, was also kidnapped with his wife in January from their home in the region of Cher of central France.
Crypto is well known now and those criminals know that they can directly transact then made their crime successful especially if they target crypto users since they can ask to pay thru online transactions.
With this situation happened its really better for us to stay low key and don't open up on where we earn our money. Since we don't know the intention of people we discuss about this matter and we should always prioritize our safety.
That incident happened is another sad reminder to all crypto users that they should protect their wealth all the time and don't play like a fool around announcing that they are Bitcoin user also have lots of funds in their wallets. SInce its like they are inviting criminals to attack them.
