If you live in
Europe UK USA or australia canada and you earn under 3000$ you are broke. Full brokie you don't live your fullest life to be honest not even half.
If you earn monthly 3000$ you are poor you can barely survive to be honest.
Be honest If you earn about 4000$-5000$ then you are poor too yes might get by with food and expenses but if anything happens you done earning 4000$-5000$ don't make you possible to save If you want to live normal life but If you don't save you not prepared for bad situation like health or losing the Job.
So let's be honest If you don't earn 7000$-10,000$ monthly you live below normal and you are poor and anyone who earns under 5000$ they are delusional about life.
So most of people are poor even well educated who got full time jobs i call them poor and yes they are poor.
I don't also know your definition of poverty. For me, poverty is the inability to provide your basic needs. Needs like food, housing, education, clothing, etc are what I see as basic needs. If you can provide these things I mentioned for yourself without relying on credit or loans, you are not poor.
I don't live in any of the countries you mentioned, maybe what you said is true. But I think there are people who earn within that range that are not poor. It all depends on the lifestyle people adopt. Some people spend extravagantly even when they earn less. While others try as much as possible to live within their means. There are people who earn $10,000 monthly, yet they are poor.
i live in new jersey usa i need to spend 7k a month or 84k a year.
i am not that extravagant.
i cook most all my own food.
but i am a diabetic which means eating a more expensive diet to stay healthy.
my medical insurance is high over 14k per year.
