Nottingham Forest hopes for a spot in next seasons UEFA champions league is slowly slipping away, yes they do deserve all the credit because it is absolutely incredible for them to be in the conversation in the first place with how shallow their squad is.
They had the up hand for a good part of the season but looks to have taken their foot off the gas.
I think it would still be a good season for Nottingham Forest if they make it to any other European competion aside from the champions league.
They have Leicester next, they should defeat them then West Ham and Chelsea are their last two games.
Nottingham Forest really started slow then picked form took the league by surprise and stayed at the top for a while, gave Liverpool their first defeat, first team to take points home and away off Liverpool. They were really on a cruise but somehow it seems the fire has gone down or maybe they’re exhausted and can’t hold on, this is where good management comes in, the end of the season is always the toughest of times and they’re out of gas. They need to go back and refuel, revive themselves if they want to qualify for European competition this season to mark this wonderful season run they had. At a time I never thought they’ll go below the fourth position but here we are and they still have tough matches ahead.
It’ll be good to see them in Europe next season.
The team must have experienced some fatigue which led their dropping off some points. However, hope is not yet lost, they can do it and I haven't rated them out yet of qualifying for champions league next season because they got their last game to play with Chelsea, and Newcastle has a game to play with Chelsea too, so you can see that very position 4th and 5th are not completely decided yet despite Nottingham Forest dropping off some in their last game with crystal Palace and until they played their couple of matches left.
