I don't necessarily think of betting as gambling, I mean, it's a game that I need to pay to enjoy. For some bets like sports betting, I always think of it as gambling, but with games like slots I often think of it as playing.
This can be both good and bad, depending on how you approach it. If you look at it as just a game and a fun time but with a clear idea about how much money you will spend on that game, then you might be able to enjoy yourself for a while without going through stress when you don't win. But games can be addictive and make us spend more time having fun than we initially wanted to or more than we can afford to. Digital money on a screen isn't like physical cash in your hands. The experience of spending them isn't the same. With cash, you notice that your stash is smaller and your wallet is lighter. With crypto and digital money, it's just numbers on a screen that don't affect you in the same way. And because you are having fun, you might not be paying attention to what those numbers are displaying.
