No PR removing those limits has been merged at this time, to say that they are being forcefully removed is simply hyperbole.

Just curious, does Bitcoin Knots still fully support UPnP? And will it be able to accept my fully synced BTC database from Bitcoin Core or will it begin syncing the database from the very 2009 again if I install it?
