First of all, I would sooner trust the experience and opinion of any experienced Core dev than your own (nothing personal; its just common sense).
Second of all, the chances of this PR getting merged remain extremely low.
Third of all, there is more than 1 "viable alternative", but again they don't receive nearly the same amount of oversight and testing as Core does, and it might be considered unwise to promote them on this forum.

This isn't true. You said Core was "rushing merging this thing up" and that's entirely false. Core rushes nothing. Its like you're unnecessarily trying to create panic for no apparent reason.
